Spreewald is a nature reserve in the German State of Brandenburg, and it’s one of Europe’s largest natural lakes. It is located about 60 kilometers southeast of Berlin. Spreewald has been continuously inhabited for more than 1000 years with residents living on its shores and islands to take advantage of fertile soil for farming. The wetlands surrounding the lake are protected as part of the Lower Oder Valley National Park

On February after a rude winter, we decided – me and my partner – to go to the Brandenburg, which is the region outside of Berlin. Its a region known for his wonderful wild life and nice lakes.
Spreewald Travel from Berlin
The journey from Berlin to the town of Burg was an experience that we will not soon forget. There is something about a region’s natural beauty when you see it firsthand, and this trip allowed us to do just that in Germany! Our main reason for going on the tour was also because of Brandenburg’s Spreewald – one big spa center where people all over come visit so they can unwind and relax.
Spree Spa
The Spa centre had quite a lot of benefits on my body (having never witnessed in my life temperature going to -20C at night, having lived for 12 years of my life in London and being used to the rainy British weather). Near the end of our trip we decided to visit the magnificent forest near our hotel, where we saw a deer and other wild life a very relaxing day indeed. The Brandenburg region and the spreewald in brandenburg is a wonderful day trip whether for a short weekend or a long week in order to relax or just leave the city daily rush and breath some fresh and at the same time to enjoy the nice atmosphere of the German Countryside. The place is usually very quiet, and should be on of the destination if you wanna escape Berlin for a few hours or days and explore Brandenburg nature.
